This page is for people who live in my local area (Seattle) that are interested in guitar lessons. I have over 30 years exp. playing and have taught guitar for 14 years. I have taught players with many years experience and have taught complete beginners who have never played a note before. My students have ranged in age from kids to senior citizen. You're never to young or old to learn to play! I teach all the basics from reading notes and tablature, different music keys, proper technique, music theory as it applies to guitar, and ear training. I teach this in a systematic way that allows the student to apply whats being taught. For the beginner I go real slow to develop a proper understanding and technique, this is really the quickest way to learn. For the more experience player I encourage techinque, learning the fretboard of the guitar, the caged system, learing scales, apreggios, a thorough understanding of the major and minor triads and moving on to extended chords. Being able to "see" music and how it all fits together. My prefered style is fingerstyle acoustic. But I have students with electric guitars who use picks. Ive played classical, acoustic and electric. Music is a language and expression, my goal is to help you learn how to speak and express music in your own style. I do this in a very patient, relaxed manner. It should be fun to learn guitar! I have a couple different payment packages. 1) $120 a month for a lesson every week. This is usually 4 lessons per month but sometimes 5 lessons. 2) $65 a month for a lesson every other week, again this is usually 2 lessons a month but sometimes 3. 3) Pay per lesson. This rate is $35 and paid one lesson at a time. Schedule whenever you want and I do my best to fit you in. Lesson are 55 minutes. For the first two payment options make up lessons can be re-scheduled within the month.
